I knew this day was coming, but there was no way to prepare for it. Our sweet little grandpa Leon and grandma Thelma moved back to Arizona last Saturday. For 19 years they have lived here during the summer and lived in Arizona for the winter. The day before they left we spent the morning in their condo saying our goodbyes and playing ball one last time. Then in the afternoon as we were leaving for the evening we stopped by to say one final goodbye. It was so sweet, eventhough Brayden didn't understand. All the way from their door to the outside door Brayden kept yelling "B-bye Leon! B-bye Leon!" Meanwhile I couldn't stop crying. N-e way, we love them and miss them so much already. Everyday Brayden asks if we can go play with Leon. So we look at a lot of pictures of them since they are usually "sleeping." I can tell already this is going to be a long winter...

Free Photo Book
I was watching Oprah today and snapfish.com is giving away free photo books for 48 hours. I haven't done mine yet so I can't give many details. Go to www.oprah.com. In the main box that has her shows from the week click on "Peter's Clutter Crew." Then click on the yellow link that says "Get your free gift from snapfish.com now." Then just follow the directions. You have to create your account to get the coupon code by Friday night at midnight. Then you have until Sunday night at midnight (PST) to order it. It is a free 20 page photo book worth $29.99. You will have to pay shipping and handling, but I'm not sure how much that will be. These make great Christmas presents. Enjoy!
Are You Serious?!
Last night was a crazy night. I dropped Brayden off at the Ericson's so I could go get my hair done. Josh came to get his haircut while the color in my hair was setting. He then took Brooklyn to the Ericson's while my hair got finished. I then went to the Ericson's, packed up both kids and headed home. Josh stayed at the Ericson's to quickly finish watching the Jazz game.
So I get home and immediately put Brayden to bed. I start nursing Brooklyn when I hear, " Poop. Big poo-poos!" Great. I put Brooklyn down (who was not happy b/c she was still hungry) and ran in to change his diaper. I said goodnight and started washing my hands. Before I was done washing I hear, "Big push. Poo-poos again." Are you kidding me?! So I go back in there and change his diaper again, all while Brooklyn is screaming. I said goodnight, washed my hands, and started feeding Brooklyn again. Next thing I know I hear, "Big push again. Poo-poos again." You can't be serious! Where is dad when I need him? I put Brooklyn down and change his diaper. This time I tell him, "No more poo-poos. You're all done." I wash up, finish feeding Brooklyn, and put her to bed. What a night! Dad - you're on diaper duty next time!
Let is snow!!!
What a crazy storm that came through here. We got about 6 inches of powder snow. One of Brayden's favorite Curious George episodes has George building a snowman. So the minute Brayden saw the snow in the morning all he wanted to do was go outside and build a snowman. I had to keep him distracted playing inside so he would stop thinking about it so much.
Josh's brother, Michael, and his wife, Natalie had the day off of work and called to see if they could come over and play with Brayden in the snow! What a surprise! Brayden was really excited and waited anxiously all day. Mike and Natalie stopped on the way and bought Brayden snowpants, gloves, and boots as an early birthday present. He looked adorable and had a blast. The snow was too powdery to make a snowman, so they made a hill then played with the soccer ball. They spent 1-2 hours playing outside. Brayden was much happier once he figured out that he can't touch his face with his gloves or he would get snow on his face. Thanks Mike and Natalie!!!
Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'!
This day has come way too early. Saturday night Brooklyn decided she was ready to roll onto her stomach. She has always loved to lay on her back and kick and play, but now she immediately starts rolling. Surprisingly, though, she doesn't mind being on her stomach. She'll lay there kicking for quite some time. Then we flip her over and she does it all again!
Happy Halloween!
We had a fun and busy day. We quickly got ready in the morning and headed out to take my mom to lunch. We then went out to Josh's work so Brayden could trick or treat at his office. Brayden loved being with dad at work and loved playing in the kids room. He finally started understanding the trick or treat concept, but 90% of the people were giving out chocolate which he doesn't like. So he would go up to pick out a piece of candy, then back up saying, "No Chocolate, no chocolate" in his sweet little voice. The picture of the kids in the leaves was taken in the middle of the parking lot at Josh's work. Brayden couldn't resist playing in them and I couldn't resist taking a picture.
After dad's work the kids took naps. We visited a few neighbors, then stopped by Josh's grandmother's house down the road. We ended up at the Ericson's and Josh and his dad took Brayden trick or treating in their neighborhood. He loved it! He was pretty high on sugar and ran around entertaining us all night. We got home and Brayden finally fell asleep at 11:30! What a day!
Children's Museum #2
Continuing on with our busy week, we ended up going to the Discovery Museum at the Gateway again on Thursday morning with my friend in our ward, Kim, and her two little boys. I think Brayden had more fun this time because he had Garrett to play with. Their favorite part was of course the balls and the water. We were there for 3 hours but could've stayed longer if it weren't nap time. Thanks Kim for spending the day with us!
Zoo Day #2
Apparently we didn't get enough of the zoo on Monday, so we went back Tuesday. This time we invited my friend in the ward, Kim, and her 2 adorable little boys. Garret, 3, and Brayden had a lot of fun running around together looking at all the animals. Brooklyn slept the entire time. I'm so glad we got season passes. Brayden has loved going to the zoo all summer, and I have enjoyed it as well!
Zoo Day #1 / FHE
On Monday morning we went to the zoo with Julie Allman and her little 5 month old boy Crew. It was perfect weather and a lot of fun. There was hardly anyone there, so it was easier to keep an eye on Brayden. I let him walk instead of stay in the stroller and he got to run wherever he wanted. He loved it!
Monday night for FHE we went to the Children's Discovery Museum at Gateway. We bought some discounted tickets on Craigslist. Brayden was in heaved. Josh and I had a lot of fun watching him explore all the fun activities. He loved driving the little police car, shopping in the market, riding the horse, and his favorite part was playing with all the plastic balls and putting them in all the tubes. Brooklyn loved sitting in our front carrier watching everyone. It was a lot of fun!
Random Pics of the Week
#1 & #2 - Brayden still loves to hold Brooklyn and give her kisses. He also loves to just sit or lay next to her. It's really cute.
#3 - Brayden insisted that I give him the Prego jar when I was done with it. He loved sticking his whole hand in and then licking his fingers.
#4 - Brayden still loves to play baseball, but we no longer play in the house (for obvious reasons.) He now loves to play while on his knees or sitting down. You know you're kid is starting to watch sports with dad when he swings and hits the ball then he throws the bat just like they do on tv. I couldn't stop laughing. He still swings left handed and hits the ball farther than I thought he could.
#5 & #6- On Saturday I took the kids to our wards trunk-or-treat. Brayden was really shy for the first little while, but then he got used to all the dressed up people and loved playing on the grass with some of his friends.
#7 - Brooklyn likes being in her bouncer. Lately, however, she will squirm and shimmy herself all the way to the bottom so her legs are hanging off. She must enjoy it because she will sit there sucking on her hands for quite some time. (And yes, I am watching closely so she doesn't jump out of the bouncer.)
